Made in Portugal. For dogs, and the people who find them.

What we are doing

Pawsonality is a dog breed matching app for iPhone. You answer a short, honest quiz about your life, your home and the people in it. It tells you which breed fits — and, just as importantly, which ones don't.

Most people choose dogs the wrong way. They see a photo, fall in love with a breed's reputation, or follow a friend's recommendation. Then they spend years adjusting to a dog who does not match their actual life. The dog adjusts too, often at a greater cost.

We think there is a better starting point. Not a perfect one. A better one. A quiz cannot predict whether you and a particular dog will love each other. But it can ask the right questions, filter out the obvious mismatches, and be honest about the hard parts.

How it's built

At its heart is a curated database of breeds: their energy, size, grooming, trainability, how they do with children and other pets, where they come from, and where they are legally restricted. Your answers are read against it by AI, which writes your match in plain language.

We designed it to be honest rather than flattering. Every match includes a real watch-out. "Talk me out of it" gives you the case against any breed. And the app is upfront about what it is: a well-informed starting point, written by AI, not advice from a vet or breeder.

It's a one-time purchase. No subscription, no ads, no account. Your results stay on your phone, and we never sell your data — not to breeders, not to anyone.

Why Portugal

Pawsonality is made in Portugal, and that offers something useful for what we are building: perspective.

The relationship between people and dogs here is older and less sentimental than in much of Northern Europe or North America. Dogs in Portugal are working animals, companions, and strays. They are part of the landscape in a way that resists the twee branding that dominates the global pet industry.

Building from Portugal also means building with a European sensibility around privacy, data, and design. This website sets no cookies and runs no trackers. Our data practices are GDPR-native, not GDPR-retrofitted. Our design language borrows more from magazine editorial than from Silicon Valley growth playbooks.
